是" can mean "am", "is" and "are" |
** "yě 也" is an adverb, it need to be placed before the verb in the
sentence |
*** "ma 吗" is an "yes or no" question word, eg: "nǐ shì Peter.
你是Peter." means "You are Peter.", while "nǐ shì Peter ma?
你是Peter?" means "Are you Peter?" |
